Camp Pine Mountain
Camp Pine Mountain is located in the Barton Flats Recreational Area of the San Bernardino National Forest located just off all-weather state Route #38, at an elevation about 6,000 feet. Camp Pine Mountain is approximately 5 acres and offers opportunities for year-round camping and outdoor day use activities. CMP is available to youth groups churches, colleges and business groups seek a mountain location for retreats, conferences, workshops, reunions and overnight camp-outs. Its proximity to the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area makes it a very popular venue with groups returning year after year. Proceeds gathered from the rental of pine mountain allow the San Gabriel Valley Family Service center to subsidize the cost of the Voorhis – Viking Camp creating accessibility to a greater number of disadvantage youth and their families.
Our Facilities
The cabins are heated and can sleep approximately 104 persons. Sleeping arrangements are bunk bed style with mattress and plywood mattress supports accommodating persons of various sizes. The cabin names and capacity are as follows.
Cedar cabin sleeps 18
Pine cabin sleeps 8
Willow cabin sleeps 10 ( The Cedar, Pine and Willow cabins are part of one building and share 2 toilets, 2 showers and 2 sinks within the building
Elm cabin sleeps 5
Spruce cabin sleeps 12 (The Elm and Spruce cabins are within the same building)
The residence cabin sleeps 3
The Health Center cabin sleeps 6 and has one shower, a toilet and a sink.
The Nurses cabin sleeps 2 persons.
The Bobcat cabin sleeps 20 persons,
The Hawk cabin sleeps 20 persons.
There are two bath houses with hot and cold running water. Each building has three showers, four toilets and three sinks.
There is a swimming pool 20 by 40 feet with depths between 3 to 7 feet.
The dining hall has a capacity up to 60 persons.
There is a large deck that can also be used for outdoor dining.
The Amphitheatre has a stage area and can accommodate seating for approximately 100 people.
There also exist a campfire circle surrounded by benches.
The kitchen has a: propane stove, propane oven, food warmer, refrigerators, double door freezer, ample food storage cupboards and sinks
Sewage is provided by a septic tank
Southern California Edison provides electricity to the entire camp.
Propane tanks are used to heat the water and for the kitchen appliances
Water is provided by the Barton Flats Camp Association Water Mutual that has seven participants.
There are two sheds for storage.
